THE SpaceX has come forward to address NASA concerns about the increased risk of collisions posed by satellites in the Starlink network, fearing they could create “substantial congestion” in Earth orbit.
“The reliability of the satellite network is currently over 99% after the launch of more than two thousand satellites, of which only 1% failed after orbiting,” reads the report. communicated from SpaceX.
SpaceX’s goal is to create a constellation of 42,000 Starlink satellites, which will enable high-speed Internet access to the most remote areas of the planet. SpaceX also said it currently has the capacity to build 45 satellites per week.
