On Saturday morning (02/26) from 8 a.m., the Department of Health and the Department of Works of the Municipality of Igrejinha will carry out a detachment, an action carried out with the aim of eliminating the breeding points of the Aedes mosquito aegypti, depending on the commune with suspected cases of dengue fever. The first action will provide advice to residents on steps to take to avoid mosquito breeding sites and the collection of debris and objects not used by residents of the first area mapped for action, which will be held in the Figueiras district, near the ESF Acácias.

Each citizen can contribute to the campaign by carrying out inspections in their yard in order to eliminate possible breeding sites, characterized by any container that can accumulate water. The Ministry of Health recalls that the population cannot forget to cover the tanks and water reservoirs, to keep the gutters always clean, to leave the bottles and containers with the opening downwards, to clean every week or filling plates of potted plants with sand, keeping garbage cans well covered and cleaning drains with netting application, in addition to keeping tarps for building materials and swimming pools always taut so as not to accumulate dirt. water on the upper part.

The Igrejinha Health Department runs a year-round “everyone against the Aedes aegypti mosquito” campaign to raise awareness about the possible breeding grounds of the mosquito, which is the vector of dengue fever, zika and chikungunya, diseases that can generate others. such as microcephaly and Guillain-Barré syndrome.
