Legendary Russian chess player Garry Kasparov says the bombing of Ukraine was already predictable given Putin’s behavior in the past.

World chess figure Garry Kasparov has been very active on social media and has now compared Vladimir Putin to a scorpion, hinting at a Persian fable.

“The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. Putin’s bombing of civilians in Ukraine was inevitable. on Twitter.

This Persian fable tells the story of a scorpion who asks a frog to carry him across a river. The frog says he is afraid of being stung by the scorpion on the trip, but the scorpion argues that if he stings the frog, they would both die while crossing the river. The frog then agrees to carry the scorpion, but halfway through, it is stung. The frog asks why he did this and the scorpion responds by saying that it is something that is in his nature and there was nothing he could have done to change his fate.
