During the last Tuesday (1), Adam Mosseri“Leader of Instagram”, revealed that the platform is adding a new feature that will be very useful for its users and will help the creators of the platform. The feature comes up against TikTok.

On his official Twitter profile, Adam said the company automatically adds captions to videos and they can be enabled by default for creators. The feature is available in some languages at the moment, but in a few months the number of languages will increase.

Subtitles will be able to increase engagement and viewing habits, however, it is still not certain that it will work. This is because people will be able to use the app even in situations where they cannot watch videos with sound, which forces users to spend more time in the app.

In addition to enabling greater engagement, the new feature will increase inclusion as people with hearing loss will be able to watch videos more often. To add auto captions, just go to post settings and enable the tool.
