Former Ukraine international and until recently Ukraine manager Andriy Shevchenko left a moving message on Wednesday. in conversation at sky sportsthe former striker, spoke about the conflict which is lived after the invasion of Russia.

“I am very proud to be Ukrainian at this difficult time for my country, my people and my family. My mother and my sister are in Kiev, where terrible things are happening, children dying and missiles aimed at our houses, and they refuse to leave, they stayed to fight for our freedom. In one of the most difficult times in our history, we have shown that we are a united people,” he explained.

Finally, a message to other countries.

“Ukraine and its people want peace and territorial integrity. I therefore ask you to support our country and to urge the Russian government to stop the aggression and the violation of international law. War is not the answer,” he concluded.
