O Mobile World Congress, also known as MWC, is one of the largest events focused on mobile devices and related technologies in the world, and the 2022 edition is already taking place there in Barcelona, Spain. Samsung took the opportunity to officially announce its new super premium laptops, the Galaxy Book 2 Pro It’s the Galaxy Book 2 360. Our special correspondent Renan Pagliarusi is at the event in person and managed to send us some up close news photos, so now we’ll show you the details here.
The main objective of the new Pro family is the union of a quality screen with a premium design, super thin and light. Both new releases come with precision workmanship and models with two screen sizes, the smaller 13.3-inch weighing just 870 grams in total and the larger 15.6-inch weighing 1.11 kg. All panels are AMOLED with Full HD resolution, thin edges and a 16:9 aspect ratio. In the case of the 360 model, the screen is touch-sensitive, supports the S Pen and can be rotated 360º until it is pressed against the base on the other side.
The batteries are also proportional to size, with the smallest providing 63 Wh of reserve and the largest 68 Wh. In practice, the manufacturer guarantees that the reserves mean a duration of up to 21 hours for the energy reserves of the devices.
Processor, memories and integration
The Galaxy Book 2 Pro and 2 Pro 360 come with Windows 11 installed out of the box and feature processors with options up to 12th Gen Intel Core i7 along with an integrated graphics chip with Intel Iris Xe. Both laptops will also be sold in options of 8GB, 16GB or 32GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of internal storage. On the Galaxy Book 2 Pro there is the option to support 5G networks, which does not exist on the 360.
Both also have a fingerprint reader, microSD card slot, headphone jack, Thunderbolt, and two USB-C ports. An improvement over its predecessor is the camera resolution, which is now Full HD. A differentiator of the new laptops is improved support for using other Galaxy devices as a second screen, such as the S22 family phones and Tab S8 tablets.
