Developer Sloclap has announced that kung fu action game Sifu has sold over one million copies since its launch on February 8 on PS4, PS5, and PC.
According to the studio, players have already spent more than 10 million hours in the game, more than 45% of them have passed the second stage and more than 150,000 have managed to defeat the last boss.
“We are delighted with the reception given to Sifu by the fans and the press,” said Sloclap executive producer Pierre Tarno. “We set out to create an authentic kung fu action game that pays homage to our favorite kung fu movies. We are grateful to our fans around the world, but we are especially honored by the incredible reception the game has had in China, our internal measure of success was how well the game was received there and knowing that fans in China are the biggest segment of our sales outside of North America and that the positive reviews from Chinese critics mean a lot to us.
