Alex Grimaldo continues on the road to Barcelona, after signaling interest in the winter market, and is singled out this Friday by the newspaper AT as Xavi’s favorite to strengthen the left-back.
The newspaper points out that almost all new hires will have to be at low pricesince a large part of the investment will have to consist of trying to secure Erling Haaland with Dortmund and deciding whether or not to exercise Adama Traore’s 30 million option at Wolves.
Frank Kessié (Milan), Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea), Andreas Christensen (Chelsea) and Noussair Mazraoui (Ajax) are targets for the defense at the end of the contract, so they will arrive relatively free.
The position of the left side is therefore missing, with the AT to mention that the first option was Theo Hernandez, from Milan, but the Italian club asks for 50 million; then Gayá, from Valencia, but here the demand is 20 million.
Next is Grimaldo – an experienced player, with a contract with Benfica until 2023, who knows the club because he trained there, and according to Barca’s shopping list, he costs 4-5 million. If Grimaldo fails, Betis’ Alex Moreno, Celta’s Galán and Ajax’s Tagliafico are in line.
