The organizers of the Farnborough Airshow announced that they would ban the participation of Russian companies, thus joining the various festivals and organizations which suspended all presence of the Eurasian country after the invasion of Ukraine, reports the partner site Aviacionline.

The air show will take place from July 18 to 22, 2022. This means that no aircraft, aerospace companies or other Russian participants will be able to display their products.

“Following the ongoing events unfolding in Eastern Europe, we have taken the decision to suspend Russian participation in the Farnborough International Air Show 2022”organizers said in a statement. “Our hearts go out to the people of Ukraine and everyone affected by the current situation. We continue to expect a quick resolution.they added.

It is not the first time that Farnborough has made a similar decision. In 2018, Russian companies were banned from exhibiting military aircraft. The move came after the European Union imposed an embargo on Russian arms imports following a 2014 assault in Ukraine’s Donetsk, Crimea and Lubansk region.

The air show that year only allowed the exhibition of Russian commercial aviation, such as Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCA), Irkut and Tupolev.
