Entering the locker room at the Allianz stadium on Wednesday to face Athletico Paranaense in the South American final of the Recopa (the super cup), the Palmeiras players found a motivation pack.
The gesture from the Abel Ferreira-led coaching staff isn’t new – it’s happened before in the second Libertadores and Club World Cup final, and this time the kit featured a mirror , a photo of each young player and a question: What would you say to this young dreamer?
The players couldn’t help but smile and seem to have given the message strength, as they won 2-0 and took Palmeiras to the first ever Recopa.
