Nuno Borges and Francisco Cabral won the pairs match this Saturday and offered Portugal a 3-0 triumph in the draw with Poland, referring to the Davis Cup World Group 1, which is took place in Maia.
After the 2-0 advantage accumulated in the two singles matches, played on Friday, the national team needed only one point, won by Borges and Cabral, playing at home, in the Municipal Complex of Maia , with the triumph over Szymon Walkow (93rd in the ATP double ranking) and Jan Zielinski (79th) in three ends, 3-6, 6-3 and 6-4.
Thanks to the three wins and given that there are only two open matches in singles, Portugal have already secured their stay in World Group 1, while Poland will drop into Group 2 of the Davis Cup.
