Bastianini wins the Qatar GP on a day marked by the fall of Miguel Oliveira – Motociclismo

The MotoGP World Championship begins today (3:00 p.m.) in Qatar, with the first of 21 scheduled races, and Miguel Oliveira will start from 14th place on the starting grid. The Portuguese driver, who did not qualify directly for the second qualifying phase (Q2), achieved his best lap in 1.53.819 minutes, a time which earned him fourth place in Q1, the first qualifying phase, for lack of to pass for Q2.

In the third free practice session, the last chance to earn a place in Q2, he was the seventh fastest, but, in the calculation of the first three sessions, he would end up with the 14th fastest time.

More positive signals were given during the fourth free practice session, usually used to test the settings for the race. Miguel Oliveira showed good race pace, being seventh, 0.408 seconds behind Frenchman Johann Zarco (Ducati), the fastest.
