São Gabriel: Health units return with routine care in the afternoon

(in the opinion of the town hall)

The Health Department of São Gabriel do Oeste, has indicated that from this Wednesday (09) it will return with routine care in the afternoon in all the health units of the city. Since January 13, the consultations and other services provided at the posts have continued with a service only in the morning.

The measure was taken due to the decrease in the number of Covid-19 cases in the municipality and the increase in the demand for care for suspected dengue fever. São Gabriel do Oeste continues with a high rate of confirmed cases and today has more than 300 probable cases of the disease. With the data, the Secretariat calls on the population to strengthen control measures against Aedes aegypti, by cleaning backyards and collecting materials that can accumulate water.

According to the unit coordinator, Thais Marocco, the increase in the number of patients with symptoms of dengue fever has invaded the health units. “We are very much in demand by the population for routine care, so we are going to expand this schedule, starting to serve the population with consultations in the morning and afternoon”, he reinforced. The coordinator also communicated that the screening examinations for Covid-19 will remain in the afternoon and that the population with respiratory symptoms will be treated separately from the general population in a prepared and isolated environment.

“The test will continue to be carried out only after 2:30 p.m. in health establishments. The antigen test is carried out from Monday to Friday only in general medicine, not being carried out in a hospital environment, the RT-PCR test is carried out on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, as well as rapid IgG and IgM tests; this being specific to people who have not yet been vaccinated,” he warned.

Other important information concerns the vaccination rooms and their operation in the units. According to the coordinator, all the vaccines of the national schedule are available for application at their respective times; in the morning from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and in the afternoon from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. There is still no forecast as to when the vaccination against Covid-19 will be carried out in the rooms of the health posts. Further information regarding operation can be obtained from the units themselves.
