The former Oneplus CEO’s first Android smartphone is expected to arrive in April

Nothing’s first smartphone could arrive in April

There have already been several rumors that the nothing has a smartphone in the works and several rumors suggest that the phone could be released very soon. Although information about it is still very limited, it seems that someone has already seen the phone, or at least a prototype.

According to information advanced by TechCrunch, Carl Pei (former CEO of OnePlus) was seen showing off Nothing’s first phone to officials at Qualcomm and several other industry leaders.

Also, according to “a source with direct knowledge of the matter”, the phone could be launched next April. TechCrunch even claims to have seen a photo of a meeting Pei had with Qualcomm’s chief executive – although it’s unclear if the phone was present in this image.

The information also talks about the design of the phone, citing its unnamed sources, claiming that the phone may have transparent design elements, i.e. something similar to what the company used in its Nothing Ear headphones. 1.

It sounds intriguing, although it’s not the first smartphone of its kind we’ve seen, as manufacturers in the past have occasionally released “transparent” variants of their gear. Plus were nothing more than a clear glass back that shows off its interior. However, these variants tended to be released in limited numbers or have limited appeal. So it would be interesting to see Nothing’s treatment of the back panel of a phone that has nothing to hide.
