The Nintendo Switch Online app was updated to version 2.0.0 this morning, bringing with it a number of changes that are absolutely top notch.

This is the app’s biggest overhaul since its launch in 2017 and follows the last update. Quest Updates and Rewards for Nintendo Switch Online.

Here are the patch notes, courtesy of Nintendo via app store:

– The overall app design has been updated.
– You can now see which of your friends are online.
– You can change status settings online.
– You can see your friend’s code.
– Other minor changes have been made.

Extras like seeing your friend’s code (which you can now copy and paste instead of painstakingly typing in all twelve digits), or even seeing if your friends are online without turning on the key, are really simple on the surface, but small updates.

But the new look is sleeker and easier to use than the original design. We expect the app to constantly receive more updates and more games to be implemented on the service. The app has some pretty cool and weird ideas, but having to run voice chat for certain games has always been tricky.

Are you still using the app almost five years after its launch? Let us know in the comments.
