With high number of dengue fever cases, Seara declares emergency

The municipality of Seara, west of Santa Catarina, declared a health emergency after an increase in dengue fever cases in the municipality. A meeting with the health sector was held on the morning of Monday 7, to define the actions to be taken.

According to the municipal health department, the municipality has 94 confirmed cases of the disease. There are still 82 exams awaiting results. There is no hospitalization.

The commune also has a confirmed case of Chikungunya fever, which, like dengue fever, is transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito.

A smoke will take place this Tuesday 8 in the neighborhoods of Bela Vista, São João and Nações. The request is for the inhabitants of these places to leave the doors and windows open at the time of the intervention, which is akin to a “cloud” of smoke with low doses of a pesticide that kills most adult mosquitoes. present in the region.
