Altice promises 10 Gbps internet speed to businesses and individuals in 9 cities – Marketeer

After telecom operator ONI announce a new internet offer designed for the enterprise segment in Portugal, which enables access to 10 Gbps broadband, Altice is now positioned as the first to bring this same technology to all customers.

Through a pilot project, the fiber optic network that provides symmetrical fixed Internet speeds between businesses and homes, called XGS-PON (Gigabit Symmetrical Passive Optical Network), will reach all operator users, regardless of segment. .

The installation of equipment offering faster communication speeds took place in nine cities of the country – Aveiro, Braga, Castelo Branco, Évora, Faro, Leiria, Lisbon, Porto and Viseu – ensuring “the decentralization of the diffusion of the technology, the tests – has in different contexts and enriching the project”, underlines the operator, in a press release.

The realization of “this technological evolution” took place at the Altice Group’s innovation headquarters in Aveiro, where Altice Labs developed the work that today promises to provide “maximum Wi-Fi 6 coverage inside and the best service experience in all circumstances, even when using multiple devices at the same time”.
