M1 has arrived on iPad Air
The rumors were true, the Apple added the chip M1 to the new product after having done the same last year with the iPadPro. The M1 chip is a major step forward for the line ipad air, mainly due to the huge amount of processing that users will have at their disposal. These are the specifications of the silicon chip that the Apple added:
- CPU 8 hearts
- 8-core GPU
- 16 Core Neural Engine
The cores that power the M1 chip, as well as the iPadOS, will give the tablet a huge performance boost, outperforming the previous model with 60% faster performance and 2x faster graphics performance. The M1 chip will give users more options and the ability to complete tasks faster, such as editing 4K video or creating computer-generated 3D models. Finally, the RAM has been doubled from 4 GB to 8 GB.
Unfortunately, as the iPadProthe M1 chip will not be used to its full power due to software limitations that the iPadOS imposes on the material. That said, for most users, a tablet with this performance will be more than enough.
Camera Improvements
the iPad Air 5 has a much better 12MP ultra-wide front camera, which now sports Center Stage – a feature borrowed from the ipad mini which keeps users within the camera view, as well as detecting more people and zooming in to fit them into the screen.
