O instagram retired the Boomerang and Hyperlapse apps last week. THE Goalthe company that controls the social network, says the decision to suspend app support is part of a strategic decision to focus on the core service.

Users who have searched for software in iOS and Android operating system stores will find solutions that are not developed by Goal.

Focused on looping short videos, Boomerang was the most famous of the duo and had versions for Android and iOS operating systems. Hyperlapse, on the other hand, “sped up” long videos so they were posted shorter, but they were only available to iPhone users.
In a statement, the Goal explains that the Boomerang format is still available in Stories. The brand has also decided to keep a third application: the Layout photo editing software.

The brand also explains that it continues to “work on new ways to express its creativity and have fun in the instagram. The company recently announced that another feature, Reels increased video length to 60 secondsin response to competitor TikTok.
