Pedro Neto renewed his contract with Wolves until 2027 on Wednesday, the very day of his 22nd birthday. More good news for the Portuguese winger who has spent 10 months recovering from a serious left knee injury.
“I am very happy because I feel at home. We are working better and better and I hope to help the club achieve goals. When I played again, after the lion, and heard the fans chanting my name, I shivered and felt that all the effort was worth it. It was a unique moment. And they always supported me a lot throughout the process,” he said, also thanking Bruno Lage:
“My recovery was in Portugal, so at first he couldn’t help me much, he just wished me luck, but when I came back and started training with the team, then yes, he helped me a lot.”
Now, Pedro Neto thinks only of quickly regaining the high level he showed when he was injured. “I think when I arrived, nobody expected me to reach the level that I reached. People around me tell me I have to take it easy now, but that’s not my mentality. I know it’s not easy but I want to get back in shape quickly,” he said.
