The President of the League hailed the new term of the Leonine leader

The official opening ceremony of the second term of Frederico Varandas brought together various elements linked to various institutions, including Pedro Proença. On the sidelines of the event held at the Artur Agostinho Auditorium, José Alvalade Stadium, the League President hailed Varandas’ new term as head of the lions, addressing the challenges ahead. “I have great admiration for Frederico Varandas as a friend and manager. He has put Sporting above himself, which is a turning point and completely different from previous directions. I wish the best for the Sporting, that he evolves with strength and vision of what we need for football. To congratulate Varandas and his management”, he stressed, responding to the demands of the Leonine leader, asking for collaboration between the clubs and various entities. “It is a responsible request for all of us managers who have responsibility for sport. There are always moments of reflection and you have to know how to deal with sport in general and football in particular. There is a lot to do in the fight against violence, xenophobia… to this continuous reflection in order to have better football in the future. [clubes e instituições] We are worth more together than individually. We are talking about a business and an activity that should bring us together. This is certainly the vision of Sporting and Frederico Varandas,” he concluded.
