The Ministry of Health stresses the importance for parents and guardians to take their children to continue the vaccination cycle with the 2nd dose.
Poços completed this week a total of 9,352 doses of vaccine against Covid-19 applied to children aged 05 to 11 years old. The Health Region’s estimate is that the population of this audience is 13,688 children. Based on this data, the municipality has so far managed to immunize 68.3% children of this age group in Poços. Nationally, approximately 50% of this target audience has been vaccinated.
The nurse in charge of the vaccine room at Urca, Ana Corina Pacheco comments on the progress of vaccination. “It is a very expressive figure, with almost 70% of all children already vaccinated with at least one dose in the municipality. He emphasizes how safe the vaccine is and therefore encourages those who have not yet taken their children to get vaccinated.
The application of the 2nd dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 for children is underway in Poços, and will continue next week according to the daily disclosure. Currently, according to the municipal health department, about 2,000 second pediatric doses, which are already on time, have not yet been applied. Also for adolescents (12 to 17 years old), about 1,500 doses are delayed for vaccination.
“We are strengthening the collaboration of parents or guardians, to return to the posts to continue the vaccination cycle. It is essential that children who have already met the deadline receive the 2nd dose of the immunizing agent, as well as adolescents who have not yet returned”, concludes Corina.
