In a game of the 26th round of the League, Rio Ave received Penafiel, in a game where they collected three precious points (2-0) in the race to the uphill, thus maintaining their pursuit of leader Casa Pia.
Vilacondenses dominated the game (57% possession and 11 shots against three) and translated his superiority into goals, against a Penafiel who struggled to reach the opposing surface.
Pedro Mendes opened the scoring in the 25th minute, while Ronan (79th) closed the scoring at a time when Penafiel was already playing with one player less, due to the dismissal of Simão (66th). Note that Pedro Amaral made the assists for both goals.
Rio Ave now has 51 points, following in second place, one point behind leaders Casa Pia, who play tomorrow Sunday. In turn, Penafiel remains in eighth position, but can be overtaken by Mafra and FC Porto B.
