Myron, Oleksii, Illia and Nikita are the first four of around thirty young Ukrainians that Benfica, through its foundation, will receive and help integrate into Portugal. The four children, who played at the club’s football schools in Kyiv and Kharkiv, are accompanied by their families.
“These are young people who have played in the two football schools that Benfica has in Ukraine, in Kharkiv and Kiev. We hope to receive around thirty young people whom we are helping, them and their families. It’s expensive to see the images we see [da guerra na Ucrânia]. We are here to help you,” Carlos Moia, executive chairman of Fundação Benfica told BTV.
