In the note sent to customers, to which Lusa has had access, Galp points out that “the new prices, which are shown in the price table below, reflect the increase in the cost of acquiring energy in line with the ‘price evolution on the international market’, indicating the new values, but without referring to the variation in question.
Contacted by Lusa, the official Galp source clarified that “for the main levels of natural gas, the monthly increases vary between 1.6 and 3 euros, and for the main powers subscribed in the case of electricity between one and two euro”.
In the bill analyzed for a domestic customer, with a subscribed power of 3.45 Kva in electricity, the increase in the price of the energy consumed varies between 1.8% off-load and 3.9% off-load.
In natural gas (tier 1) the announced increase is almost 15% – from 0.07728 to 0.0889 euros/Mwh.
The wholesale electricity and natural gas markets were already going through an energy crisis, with historically high values, the rise in prices having exploded with the war in Ukraine, reaching values ten times higher than those recorded at the start of 2021.
