“Sony Interactive Entertainment joins the global community calling for peace in Ukraine,” said a statement posted on PlayStation’s Twitter account.
“We have suspended all software and hardware shipments, the launch of Gran Turismo 7 and PlayStation Store operations in Russia,” he added.
The Japanese tech giant will donate $2 million to the UN refugee agency and Save the Children “to support the victims of this tragedy”.
A growing number of multinationals such as McDonald’s, Adidas and Samsung have suspended all or part of their activities in Russia after the invasion of the neighboring country on February 24.
Some cited supply chain disruptions and others linked it to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to send troops to Ukraine.
