New information about the OnePlus smartphone with 150W fast charging

Written by admin

While Oppo and OnePlus remain separate brands, the company behind them has now merged, and that entity recently promised a phone. OnePlus with 150W fast charging. Now it looks like the phone is almost there.

As noted MySmartPrice, a OnePlus handset with 160W fast charging has been seen gaining regulatory approval in China, suggesting a launch is very close. The listing also reveals that the phone comes with 5G connectivity.

That 160W probably equates to 150W on the actual spec list – as suggested by the well-known insider Digital chat station – and all signs point to this being the device Oppo announced a few weeks ago.

What we still don’t know is what the phone will be called. At MWC 2022, Oppo said there would be no OnePlus 10 joining the OnePlus 10 Pro – but does that leave the door open for a OnePlus 10 Ultra or similar?

Meanwhile, earlier this month we saw leaked images of a mysterious OnePlus smartphone that has a very different design to the OnePlus 10 Pro. At the moment, what Oppo and OnePlus are planning is far from clear.

According to Digital Chat Station, the upcoming handset will have a 6.7-inch display and will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chipset, with a triple-lens rear camera on the back. Add fast charging and it sounds like a great phone.

Other information

From what we have heard so far, the OnePlus phone will come with a 4,500mAh battery and will be able to charge the battery from zero to one hundred percent in just 15 minutes. You don’t have to wait long at all.

While awaiting details, the most similar fast-charging technology worked by splitting the battery into two components and charging them simultaneously. We’ll have to wait and see if that’s the approach OnePlus is taking here, but it’s likely.

We’ve been told the battery will retain at least 80% of its full capacity even after 1,600 charges, so long-term battery health shouldn’t be an issue – and when charging speeds are this fast, that means that the battery life is not so important.
