BOLA – The Venezuelan wins the inaugural stage of Alentejana (Cycling)

The Venezuelan Orluis Aular (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA) is the first leader of the 39th edition of the Volta ao Alentejo, winning the inaugural stage of the race, 176.7 kilometers between Vendas Novas and Sines.

Aular, 25, excelled in the final meters, relegating teammate Iuri Leitão to second place. “The idea was to try to win the stage by sprinting from a distance. Yuri (Leitão) could also win, but I’m very happy with the result,” said the Venezuelan, who took the lead with a four-second lead.

On the second day of competition, the peloton will face 187.7 kilometers between Beja and Portel.
