Jalesense, 68, is the first victim of dengue fever this year

As reported by regional media, Jales recorded the first death from dengue fever in 2022. He was a 68-year-old man, who died on February 24.

According to the Municipal Department of Health, which confirmed the death, the victim suffered from other illnesses, in particular tested positive for Covid-19 before the diagnosis of dengue fever.

The municipality is experiencing an outbreak of the disease and this year alone has confirmed 417 positive dengue cases and more than 1,100 are awaiting test results, according to Pasta.

According to the coordinator of the municipal team for the fight against endemics, Vanessa Luzia da Silva, there are hospitalizations of people with dengue fever in Jales.
