The state of Paraíba has reached the mark of third state in Brazil in percentage of vaccination against Covid-19 this Friday (18). According to data from the state health services, 82.71% of the population of Paraíba aged five years or older has already taken at least two doses or a single dose of the vaccine, placing the state in a position of first plan.
In this way, Paraíba approaches the percentage of 90%, considered ideal by the World Health Organization (WHO) and is ahead of Ceará, in fourth position, with 81.60% of the population vaccinated and Paraná, in fifth, with 81.29%. The list is led by São Paulo, which has 88.79% of the vaccinable public with a complete vaccination schedule, followed by Piauí, with 86.84%.
The advance is supported by data from the Secretary of Health’s (SES) Epidemiological Bulletin, which indicates low occupancy of intensive care beds for Covid, currently at 16% statewide, in addition to the almost daily reduction in the notification of new cases of the disease. Yesterday (17), for example, Paraíba registered 740 cases and one death due to the coronavirus.
