Benfica announced on Thursday the signing of young Canadian midfielder Malcolm Michael Simmons (ex-Lusitância dos Açores).
“It’s a great feeling. Benfica is the first big club I represent, it’s a great opportunity, a great success. I like to give everything on the pitch, I’m an intense player. Benfica is a club with a great reputation, has trained great players who today play in the best competitions in the world. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world,” the midfielder told Benfica TV.
On his ambitions at the red club: “The objectives of this season are to give everything for the club, to play with intensity, to reach the best level of my football and of my abilities and my potential. If I give it my all and really do my best, I could one day make the A team.
