Ukrainian boxer Aleksander Usyk successfully defended his heavyweight title, beating Britain’s Anthony Joshua on points after 12 rounds on Saturday.
The fight took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with the Ukrainian boxer dedicating the victory to his compatriots, who continue to suffer from the Russian invasion of the territory.
“I dedicate this victory to my country, my family, my team and the soldiers who defend them.” The title deserved the attention of the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, who underlined a “difficult, but very important victory” ensured by his compatriot.
